Ask the CAIR Agent

A conversation partner that has actually read the chart — answers grounded in your records, with the sources one tap away. No need to explain the history first; it already has it.

Where: your care event You'll need: records already imported Time: a few minutes

It answers from your records first

The agent is grounded in the care event you're standing in. It answers from your records first, then adds trusted general guidance — and the two are clearly separated, so you always know which you're reading.

1

Open the CAIR Agent

On a desktop the agent sits in a panel beside the care event; on a phone it opens over the page. Either way it already knows every record in this care event — there's no history to repeat.

2

Ask in your own words

Type the question the way you'd ask a nurse. You don't need the clinical term — “is this something to worry about?” is a perfectly good question.

Is Mom's new potassium level something to worry about?

From your records: the May 2 result (5.4 mmol/L) is slightly above the lab's normal range, and Dr. Osei's note already scheduled a recheck…

3

Tap a citation to see the source

Every claim that comes from your records carries a source chip. Tap it and the original document opens beside the answer, with the relevant part highlighted — so you can check the agent's work rather than take it on faith.

“…potassium 5.4 mmol/L, mildly elevated; recheck in 2 weeks with renal function.”

4

Highlight anything, anywhere, and ask about it

Select text in a summary, a lab table, or a document and choose Ask CAIR — or save the selection straight to your notebook for later.

Echo shows mild mitral regurgitation, unchanged from prior study.

What the agent will and won't do

  • It answers from your records first, then adds trusted general guidance — clearly separated.
  • Anything drawn from your records carries a source you can open. If there's no citation, it isn't from your chart.
  • It is an aid for understanding. It never replaces your care team's advice — take the answers to them.
